Michael J. Simon, Executive Vice President, Publishers Press, Inc., will receive a 2015 Luminaire Award at the upcoming Franklin Luminaire Awards gala on October 1, 2015 at The Lighthouse, Chelsea Piers, New York, NY. The Luminaire Award recognizes outstanding professionals in advertising, publishing, printing, and integrated media.

Michael Simon is a fifth generation owner of Publishers Press, one of the few remaining family-owned businesses serving the magazine industry. Michael began working at Publishers Press in 1982. He and his brother Nicholas, President of Publishers, find a great source of pride along with tremendous reponsibility, in building on the Publishers Press legacy established in 1866.

Publishers Press has established itself as an industry pioneer, producing the first magazine using a complete computer-to-plate process and offering the first in-house distribution system. Publishers Press has 1 million square feet of manufacturing space and produces 1,000 titles a month.

The Franklin Luminaire Awards gala is held from 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm on October 1, 2015 at The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers in Manhattan. The event is co-sponsored by Printing Industries Alliance and IDEAlliance, with proceeds benefiting the Graphic Communications Scholarship Fund (GCSF), a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. GCSF supports the next generation of media professionals, providing student scholarships to deserving Metro New York students.
