- To Recycle
- Purchased a heat recovery system that recycles a high percentage of the energy from our industrial processes and uses it for heat in our paper warehouse.
- Return scrap pallets and press rollers to the manufacturer for recycling, refurbishing and reuse.
- When pallets are ordered, about 40% of what we receive is reused or reconditioned.
- Recycle aluminum plates and keep them out of landfills. Approximately 323,000 pounds are recycled by Publishers Press annually.
- Send inks, coatings, solvents, and adhesives to be fuel blended and used for energy by a licensed third-party. No hazardous wastes are ever sent to the landfill.
- Use a computer program called Mixmaster to mix leftover inks for reuse in “remix” black.
- Recycle over 50 million pounds of paper and paper products each year using a cyclone waste paper removal system in both plants to retrieve scraps and paper and send to bailer.
- Recycle 100% of unused material from every paper and plastic roll.
- Baled and recycled 217 tons of plastic, keeping it out of the landfill.
- Ensure 100% of every paper core plug is recycled, shredded, and used for mulch, accounting for 30,000 pounds.
